Al Sahaby Lane Restaurant opened in the 1930's by the great grandfather of the Al-Sahaby family. Since opening, the restaurant grew to be the most popular in the city and is recommended by many international guide books and magazines. Due to its popularity amongst tourists and locals alike, the street was renamed after the founding family in appreciation from the governor of Luxor.
Al Sahaby Lane Restaurant serves a variety of authentic Egyptian, middle eastern and international food. Fresh and well-prepared Egyptian dishes like tagen (stew cooked in earthenware pots) are served as well as good pizzas and salads.
The terrace is a great place to watch the world go by, or relax from shopping in the souq. The same food is served on the hotel’s rooftop terrace, with great views over Luxor Temple and the Thebes mountains, both floodlit at night.
