La Teo Pension and Cellar is a family business that took birth more than 24 years ago.
Located in the middle of the medieval fortress Sighisoara, at the base of the Covered Stairs, La Teo Pension and Cellar welcomes you in a historical house, Sachsenheim, a Saxon house dating from the XVI-th century.
All 6 rooms combine Saxon and modern trade elements, offering you the much-desired comfort. The rooms are located above the cellar where you can taste the traditional natural drinks prepared by Teo, and access to the rooms is from an inner courtyard full of flowers all year round.
The cellar houses 100% natural brandies, forest fruits liqueur and traditional wines, awarded with gold, silver, bronze at international salons and at the fairs of brandy producers in Romania. The family has been producing these wonders for over 200 years with secrets and traditional recipes from the Târnavelor area where the Saxons made liqueurs specific to their medieval culture, 800 years ago. They keep the brandy in wooden barrels, the minimum aging period is 3 years.
Moreover, the famous Orient Express has a station in Sighisoara, and its passengers always stop at "Teo's Cellar" where they are invited to eat homemade bread with potatoes, lard with paprika and onion. For those who want to enjoy the fresh air, they provide the indoor terrace with oak tables where you can enjoy organic natural apple juice or berry syrup, brandy, mulled wine, boiled brandy, which cannot be found anywhere else, only in their cellar. The inner courtyard is an ideal place to relax for adults and play for children.
