WHEN TO GO: The best time to visit Mallorca is the shoulder season in April–May and September–October—days are warm and crowds are few. Most hotels and restaurants are open, and it's a prime time to enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and mountain biking.

HOW TO GET THERE: You can get to the island by ferry or by plane from Spain, as well as several other European destinations.

HOW TO GET AROUND:  Mallorca has an extensive road network, with good signage and, since the distances are short, it is very easy to move from one place to another. To move around the island, there are several options, such as renting a car (which allows greater freedom of movement), or traveling around Mallorca by train, bus and even bicycle, since, in recent years, the bicycle touring network has expanded from constantly.
